March 1st - First date that Request for Information letters, requesting documents needed for awarding financial aid, are mailed to students.

March 31st - Priority filing deadline for WCU to recieve a completed FAFSA for the student requesting financial aid.

April 1st - All Summer School Supplement forms must be turned in to the Financial Aid Office.

April 1st - First date that Financial Aid Award Notifications are mailed to entering students who have completed the FAFSA and submitted all requested documentation to the Financial Aid Office.

May 15th - First date that Financial Aid Award Notifications are mailed to continuing students who have completed the FAFSA and submitted all requested documentation to the Financial Aid Office.

June 1st - Last date to have completed all requested paperwork and still have a reasonable chance to be awarded Financial Aid prior to receiving your Statement of Account (bill) from the WCU Business Office.

July 1st - All required paperwork must be turned in to be eligible for the August 1st Deferment Deadline.

July 1st - First day Special Conditions Appeal Forms will be available to students.

July 5th - Approximate date for the Statement of Account (bill) to be mailed.

August 1st - Students that have turned in ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS to the Financial Aid office by July 1st will be issued a deferment based on loan eligibility. Notification of this deferment will be sent to the student. Depending on the amount of the deferment and charges, this could prevent classes from being cancelled on August 1st.

August 5th - Last day to submit an Alternative Loan application and have the loan certified prior to the start of school. Loans not certified by the school can not be used to defer payment of the student bill.

August 15th - Students who submit ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS to the Financial Aid Office after the July 1st deadline, but prior to August 15th, will be issued a deferment based on loan eligibility. Notification of this deferment will be sent to each student.
