WCU students to host "Zombies for Art" show Nov. 10-25
10/23/2008 - The living dead are the order of the day for the thesis art exhibition of nine Western Carolina University candidates for their bachelor of fine arts. This ceramic piece by Jessica Capps, a Western Carolina University art student, is among the works in the thesis exhibit “Nine Lives: Zombies for Art,” beginning with an opening reception Nov. 10 at the WCU Fine Art Museum.

An opening reception for “Nine Lives: Zombies for Art” will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10, at the Fine Art Museum on the WCU campus. The show will run through Tuesday, Nov. 25.

Participating students, all seniors, and their concentrations are Jeremy Aversa, graphic design; Jessica Capps, ceramics (her piece is shown at right); Susan Cloer, sculpture; Christine Elder, painting; Emily Gingrass, graphic design and graphic art; Meredith Harbin, painting; Kristen Meredith Poston, printmaking; Misty Norris, drawing; and Jennifer Toledo, painting.

The Fine Art Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday; and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
